With board terms expiring in 2020, the Birmingham Water Works Board has a new makeup for 2021 and beyond.
The nine-member board is composed of four appointees from the Birmingham City Council, two appointees by the Mayor of the City of Birmingham, and one appointee each from the Jefferson County Mayor’s Association, the Shelby County Commission, and the Blount County Commission.
On Dec. 29, 2020, the Birmingham City Council reappointed Ronald Mims and Dr. George Munchus to the board and appointed two new members, Tereshia Huffman and Larry Ward.
City of Birmingham Mayor Randall L. Woodfin reappointed Lucien Blankenship, Esq. and appointed Chris Rice as a new board member on Jan. 12, 2021.
With the Shelby County Commission returning William “Butch” Burbage, Jr., CPA to the board for a second term, the Jefferson County Mayor’s Association appointed Tom Henderson to the board and the Blount County Commission chose Carl Dalton NeSmith as its representative.
