Last month, Birmingham Water Works proudly celebrated Engineering Week by participating in the Girls in Engineering event at the McWane Center. Hosted by the Society of Women Engineers, this inspiring event aimed to introduce young girls to the exciting world of engineering and encourage them to explore careers in STEM fields. BWW took this opportunity to connect with future engineers, sharing insights about the vital role water professionals play in shaping communities. Our team engaged with students through hands-on activities and discussions, helping them see the possibilities that a career in engineering can offer.

Events like Girls in Engineering are essential for fostering the next generation of innovators, and BWW was thrilled to be a part of the experience. By interacting with young minds who may be interested in engineering, we hope to inspire more women to join this impactful field. Our participation aligns with our commitment to education, outreach, and workforce development, ensuring that the future of engineering — especially in the water industry — continues to grow with diverse and talented professionals.
