Birmingham Water Works continues to reach fifth-graders across our service are through our educational initiative “A World Without Water. The school program is dedicated to educating fifth-graders on the value of having clean water to stay hydrated and hygienic. Most recently, our team visited Grantswood Community School and Glen Iris Elementary School.
This year, BWW introduced a creative poster competition open to all fifth-graders in the water system’s service area. That includes Jefferson, Shelby, Blount, St. Clair and Walker counties. All submissions will be judged based on creativity, originality, and how well the submission expresses the theme of the contest. We will hold an awards celebration on May 9, 2025, to announce the winners of the competition. This years winners will receive a family four-pack to Splash Adventure Water Park for the summer! What a fun way to enjoy our most precious resource, water!
If you know anyone interested in participating in the school program with BWW, please call 205–422–4221 or email [email protected].
